Terms of Service
The agreement for using DearBureau consumer-rights software and any optional paid services.
1. Agreement and eligibility
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and Your Resource Group LLC ("YRG," "we," "us," or "our"), the company that operates DearBureau. By creating an account, clicking to accept, accessing DearBureau, or buying a DearBureau service, you agree to these Terms and acknowledge our Privacy Policy.
You must be at least 18 years old, able to form a binding contract, and using DearBureau in the United States. If you use DearBureau for another person, you represent that you have legal authority to do so and that the service expressly supports that use. If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use DearBureau.
2. The DearBureau service
DearBureau is consumer-rights software. It helps you retrieve or upload your credit report, organize report facts, identify items worth reviewing, collect your answers and supporting records, prepare correspondence for your review, and track related replies and follow-up work. Optional paid services may include guided workflows and printing and mailing correspondence that you approve.
DearBureau is not a credit-repair service and does not sell or perform a service to improve a credit score or remove accurate information. It does not make credit or lending decisions and does not determine whether information is inaccurate or whether a legal claim is valid. You control the facts you provide, the positions you take, and whether to send any correspondence.
3. Important limits
DearBureau is not a law firm and does not provide legal, tax, financial, or accounting advice. Software output, findings, templates, dates, and suggested next steps are general information and may be incomplete or unsuitable for your situation. You should review source records and every document before relying on it or sending it.
We do not promise a deletion, correction, score change, investigation result, response, settlement, approval, or other outcome. Accurate, current negative information generally cannot be removed merely because it is harmful. You have the right to dispute inaccurate information yourself without paying DearBureau, and you may contact credit reporting companies and information furnishers directly. Official guidance is available from the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
4. Your report-access instructions
If you connect a supported report or monitoring source, you instruct and authorize YRG and its service providers to access that source, retrieve and copy the information you request, and use it only to provide DearBureau functions to you. A separate written authorization is shown when you connect a supported source and is incorporated into these Terms.
You may connect or upload only reports, accounts, and records that you are legally authorized to access. You represent that the credentials and instructions you provide are accurate and authorized. Report sources are independent services and may change or limit access at any time.
5. Your account and responsibilities
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account, identity, report, and billing information;
- keeping your credentials secure and promptly reporting suspected account misuse;
- confirming that report facts, answers, evidence, recipient details, and dates are correct;
- reviewing and approving each letter or package before downloading or ordering it;
- keeping copies of records you need and monitoring deadlines that apply to you;
- using DearBureau and its output only for lawful, personal purposes.
6. Your content and correspondence
You retain your rights in the reports, documents, answers, evidence, and other content you provide. You give YRG a limited, non-exclusive permission to host, copy, process, format, and transmit that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and support DearBureau and provide the functions you request.
You are the decision-maker and sender for correspondence created in your workspace. Nothing is submitted for an optional mailing until you approve the item and complete the required order. You must not submit information you know is false, fabricated, misleading, unlawful, or submitted without authority.
7. Acceptable use
You may not:
- access, upload, or disclose another person’s report without legal authorization;
- impersonate another person or submit false statements or fabricated evidence;
- use DearBureau to harass, defraud, or violate another person’s rights;
- probe or interfere with security or bypass account, tenant, or usage controls;
- introduce malicious code or use automation that disrupts or burdens the service;
- copy, resell, sublicense, scrape, or reverse engineer DearBureau except where applicable law expressly permits it;
- use DearBureau or its output in violation of applicable law.
8. Third-party services
DearBureau works with independent report sources, credit reporting companies, information furnishers, payment processors, document processors, printers, email providers, and mail carriers. Their services, data, decisions, availability, and delivery events are outside our control and may be governed by separate terms and privacy policies. A link or integration does not mean YRG endorses every third-party statement or service.
9. Prices, payments, and subscriptions
Current prices and the services included are shown before purchase. By submitting a purchase, you authorize YRG and its payment processor to charge the payment method you provide for the displayed amount and any recurring charges you accept. You are responsible for applicable taxes that are shown at checkout and for keeping billing information current.
A subscription renews at the interval and price displayed at checkout until canceled. You can request cancellation from the DearBureau subscription area before the next renewal. A past-due billing status may need to be resolved before in-app cancellation can complete; contact support if the control is unavailable. Once accepted, cancellation stops future renewals and paid access continues through the end of the current paid period. Unless the purchase screen says otherwise or applicable law requires it, a cancellation does not automatically refund a completed charge. Contact support if you believe a charge is incorrect or want us to review a refund request.
Optional mailing is charged per approved item at the price shown before order. Once a mailing enters printing or carrier processing, it may not be possible to cancel or change it. We will show any available cancellation or refund terms before purchase or when you contact support.
We may change future prices by giving advance notice required by law. A subscription price change applies no earlier than a later renewal identified in that notice. If you do not accept the change, you may cancel before it takes effect.
10. DearBureau ownership and license
YRG and its licensors retain all rights in DearBureau’s software, interfaces, designs, templates, documentation, and branding, excluding your content. While these Terms remain in effect, YRG grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use DearBureau for its intended consumer purpose. No other rights are granted.
If you send feedback, you allow YRG to use it without restriction or compensation, but we will not publicly identify you as its source without permission.
11. Availability and service changes
Report formats, provider access, software features, and legal requirements change. We may add, change, suspend, or discontinue a feature and may perform maintenance that interrupts access. When reasonably practical, we will give notice before a material change that removes a paid function during an active paid period.
12. Suspension, cancellation, and termination
You may stop using DearBureau at any time and may request account closure through support. Subscription cancellation is governed by Section 9 and does not itself delete your account or records.
We may limit, suspend, or terminate access when reasonably necessary to protect a user or the service, address suspected fraud or unlawful use, enforce these Terms, respond to a provider restriction, or comply with law. Where appropriate, we will give notice and a reasonable opportunity to correct the issue. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.
13. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent permitted by law, DearBureau is provided “as is” and “as available.” YRG disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that DearBureau will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every report or provider, or that software output will be complete or accurate.
These disclaimers do not exclude a warranty or consumer protection that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
14. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, YRG and its officers, employees, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or opportunities, arising from or related to DearBureau, even if advised that such damages were possible.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the total liability of YRG and those parties for all claims arising from or related to DearBureau will not exceed the greater of $100 or the amount you paid YRG for DearBureau during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited, including where applicable for fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or violation of non-waivable consumer rights.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms prospectively as DearBureau or applicable law changes. We will post the revised Terms and update the effective date. We will provide additional notice before a material change when required by law. If you do not accept revised Terms, you must stop using DearBureau and cancel any subscription before the change takes effect.
16. General terms
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, any written report-access authorization, and terms shown at a specific purchase are the entire agreement between you and YRG about DearBureau. If purchase-specific terms conflict with these Terms, the purchase-specific terms control only for that purchase.
Applicable United States federal law and, to the extent not preempted, the law of the state where YRG is organized govern these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms deprives you of mandatory protections available under the law of your state of residence. Before filing a dispute, you and YRG agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve it by contacting the other party, unless immediate action is needed to protect rights or a legal deadline.
You may not transfer these Terms without our consent. We may transfer them as part of a reorganization, financing, merger, sale, or transfer of DearBureau. If a provision is unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum lawful extent and the remaining provisions will continue. A failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. Headings are for convenience only.
